Looking for Good ‘Old Bags’
Belchertown, MA – Belchertown has the best “Old Bags” and they will be back at the Stone House Museum on May 10.
The Belchertown Historical Association is again seeking donations of new and gently used handbags, totes, wallets, purses, brief cases, backpacks, etc. for the Fourth Annual “Old Bag Sale” to be held on Opening Day, Saturday, May 10 on the grounds of the Stone House Museum, 20 Maple Street. Because of generous donations of quality “old bags” in previous years, this annual fundraiser has proven to be very successful.
Spring is a great time to clean out your closet and donate to a great cause at the same time. Maybe it’s that cute little bag you just fell in love with, but was too small to even hold your lipstick, or the chartreuse one you bought for your cousin’s wedding – let us match them with a new owner.
New and gently used bags may be dropped off at the following participating Belchertown businesses: Bell & Hudson Insurance Co., 19 North Main St.; Citizens Bank, 33 Main St.; Easthampton Saving Bank, 10 Turkey Hill Road [Rts. 202 & 21]; Jones-Bay Path Realty, 10 South Main St.; and Making Waves The Salon, 8 Jabish St. [behind the laundromat]. If you have a large amount of bags to donate call Cheryl Dutton at 413-262-7890 to arrange for pick up. Remember the best excuse to get a new bag is because you got rid of an “Old Bag.”
Proceeds benefit the Belchertown Historical Association which preserves and promotes the history of Belchertown through the Stone House Museum and educational programs in the schools and community.
