Belchertown:
Bits of History
The fifty stories in this charming collection mark the events, places
and people that have made Belchertown special. Drawn from the writings
of beloved local fixtures Doris and Harvey Dickinson, these tales show
how Belchertown holds firm to its New England Yankee traditions in the
heart of the Pioneer Valley of Western Massachusetts.
The book may
be purchased at the Stone House Museum, Clapp Memorial Library, Lawrence
Memorial Hall in the Town Clerk's office, Belchertown Copy Center and
Collective Copies. Next Book
signings will be at the Living
History Days events. |

"A Taste of Our Past" Cookbook
- $5
Compiled from recipes found in the archives of the Stone House,
private cookbook collections, and contributions of treasured family
recipes from Association members, the cookbook has over 75 tasty and
simple recipes. The recipes give a glimpse into our local history by
highlighting the foods that were popular in the past and how those dishes
were prepared. Recipes have clear instructions and can be readily made by
modern-day cooks. A great gift for family chefs, cookbook collectors, or
anyone who loves both food and history. Proceeds will help support the
activities of the Association throughout the year.
Get Involved

There are numerous opportunities to help!
Even a couple of hours can be a great contribution to the success of our
organization and mission. We need people to make calls, make signs, help
with planning/setup, collect admission fees, handout fliers, etc. Many of
these activities can be done from your home or while you perform your own
day-to-day activities. And, many of these activities do not require you to
be involved at the actual day of the event. We have many options for your
children to be involved as well. No prior experience or knowledge is
necessary.
Write or call us. Contact information is below. Or, you can indicate your
interest on the bottom of the membership form. Whether
you have time or a talent you can share, we look forward to hearing from you.
