For those of you who have not already heard, our dearly loved Archivist and longtime mainstay of our Association, Doris Dickinson, has decided to move to South Carolina to be nearer her many family members down there. Doris is very upbeat about her decision, and is looking forward to many opportunities to spend quality time with some of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, as well as the opportunity to do some on-site family genealogical research in the area and experience more temperate winters. Of course we all give Doris our love and best wishes, BUT it is really too much to ask any of us to greet this news with undiluted pleasure! DORIS: Your knowledge, devotion and energy will be sorely missed. It is no exaggeration to say that the Association’s debt to you for your years of service is beyond price. I will attempt to add no further words here—there are simultaneously too many and not enough! HOWEVER, in this day of webcams and virtual meetings we must console ourselves with the knowledge that Doris is only a mouse-click away: Doris’ new e-mail address is harveybud@gmail.com.
